Technology

We use a proprietary RF plasma technology to break apart and collect precious metals from encapsulation in refractory or complex ores. Certain types of material could be totally altered or recombined into different physical structure by processing through a RF plasma torch or reactor at ultrahigh temperature. It is like a new state-of-the-art roasting method to detach precious metals that are normally encapsulated by other more visible base metals (such as lead, copper, nickel, zinc, etc.). It uses a plasma torch with argon gas to apply high temperatures (> 8,000oC) to concentrated ores (about 100 mesh in size) to create separation and collection. Ore powders injected into the plasma stream change the shape, morphology, chemical composition, and crystal structure of the ore. These changes occur with the plasma exposure time measured in tens of milliseconds. This process then uses a quick condensation method to recover the metals before vaporization through closely monitored temperature and pressure controls. Upon condensation, the precious metal ions such as Au, Ag, Pt, Pd, and Rd can then be rendered neutral and purified through conventional extraction and refining methods. By applying this proprietary RF Plasma reactor technology, precious metals are freed from encapsulation in significant amounts in very fine powder forms (less than 1 micron) ready for smelters and refiners to work with. The existing pyro-metallurgy techniques are not capable of such separation.

300KW Radio Frequency Plasma Production System is comprised of RF plasma torches, a reactor chamber, ore feeding and metal powder collection equipment, compressor, generator, and computer control station. The system is modular, and output can be scaled up by adding modules to increase production output as required. The modules can be arranged in series in the plant layout.
